I’ve always been more interested in choosing the life that feels right than following the path everyone else expects.
Maybe that’s why elopements made so much sense to me. There’s something pretty incredible about deciding what actually matters to you, letting go of the rest, and creating a wedding day around that.
I’m drawn to the messy, real parts of life—the ridiculous laughter, muddy boots, plans that change because a better idea catches your eye, and those quiet little moments you don’t realize anyone else noticed.
You get to do this your way. I’m just really lucky I get to come along for it.

I’m not only thinking about the photographs you’ll post when your gallery arrives. I’m thinking about the two of you years from now, when life looks completely different than it does today.
I want you to look back and remember the way you laughed until your stomach hurt. The way their hand found yours without thinking. The wind, the nerves, the quiet moments, and all the little pieces you didn’t even realize I was photographing.
I want these photographs to bring you right back to this version of yourselves—to who you were, what this season of your life felt like, and just how wildly in love you were.
Because the places will be incredible. The photographs will be beautiful. But someday, what I hope matters most is that you can look at them and think:

When I'm not photographing people wildly in love somewhere beautiful, there's a pretty good chance I'm hanging out with Hunter—my dog, adventure buddy, co-pilot, and very handsome old man.
He's been beside me through a whole lot of life and has claimed permanent status as my favorite sidekick.
And yes, if you have a dog, I absolutely want to hear about them. Bonus points if they're coming along for your adventure.

There’s almost always an Alani nearby, a Yeti within arm’s reach, and a pretty good chance I’m wearing cowboy boots—or looking for an excuse to wear them.
I have a slight weakness for cowboy hats, an ever-growing Yeti collection, and very strong opinions about which Alani flavor deserves permanent fridge space.
Basically, when I find something I love, I’m all in. And yes, I can absolutely be influenced into buying another hat, pair of boots, or something I definitely did not need.

I've always felt most like myself outside. Give me mountains, a trail I haven't explored yet, a bow in my hand, or somewhere completely new to wander and I'm happy.
I'm an outdoors girl through and through—hunting, hiking, traveling, getting muddy, and stopping approximately 47 times because the view is too damn good.
There's something about being somewhere wild that makes everything else disappear for a minute. It's a huge part of why Adventure Rooted feels so much like me.

We were very nervous for our engagement session because we’d never had professional photos taken and both prefer not to be the center of attention. Holly was so fun and goofy with us that we felt comfortable right away.
She even cheered us on during our silly battle with Harry Potter wands!
