If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to wake up in a glass cabin in the middle of nowhere, help your partner into their wedding outfit, and then head off-roading to say your vows on a lava field, this elopement at Landmannalaugar is going to give you all the inspo. Eva + Issac kept their day simple, fun, and focused on what really mattered: being together, exploring cool places, and celebrating their love in a way that felt totally true to them. Here’s how it all went down.

Morning at Panorama Glass Lodge Iceland
They kicked off their day at Panorama Glass Lodge, a cozy little cabin with floor-to-ceiling windows and epic views in every direction. No alarms, no rush, just a slow morning filled with cuddles, coffee, and the kind of playful chaos that happens when you’re in love and hyped for the day ahead. They jumped around on the bed, had a little pillow fight, and soaked in the moment. It honestly felt more like a weekend getaway than a wedding morning, which is exactly what made it so special.

Getting Ready (Together!) Before the Adventure
No big separate reveal or traditional stuff, they helped each other get ready, side by side. Eva’s dress had the coolest fringe and floral embroidery, and Issac kept it classy in a black suit. They took their time, laughed a lot, and made even the “getting dressed” part feel like a team effort. And honestly? Helping your partner tie their tie or zip up their dress hits different when you’re about to go exchange vows in the freaking Highlands!

Elopement at Landmannalaugar, Iceland
Once they were dressed and ready, they hopped in their 4×4 Defender and hit the road. Destination: Landmannalaugar, a wild, rugged area in Iceland’s Highlands known for its lava fields, geothermal hot springs, and those iconic colorful mountains. They found a quiet spot surrounded by ancient lava rock and said their vows out there in the open. Just the two of them, the wind, and views that made everything feel big and peaceful at the same time. It was simple, low-key, and exactly what they wanted!

Quick Stop at Hnausapollur (Bláhylur) View Point
On the drive back, they spotted Hnausapollur (aka Bláhylur), a bright blue lake that looks like it doesn’t belong on this planet. Naturally, we pulled over. They took a few more portraits in their wedding outfits, soaking up the views and sneaking in a few last romantic shots before changing into something more comfy for the rest of the day.

Casual Adventure Vibes with the Defender
Now in cozy layers (and some super cute vintage-style outfits), Eva + Issac closed out their elopement with a mini adventure session. They climbed up hills, kissed by their Defender, laughed a lot, and leaned into all the fun that comes from just being together in the middle of nowhere. No pressure, no timeline, just good vibes and one hell of a backdrop.

Thinking About Your Own Elopement at Landmannalaugar?
Here’s why this spot is so worth it:
- Privacy: You’ll probably have the place to yourself.
- Epic backdrops: Lava, mountains, lakes, and more.
- Adventure factor: 4×4 roads, remote locations, and zero stress.
- Freedom to make it yours: Whether you want to hike, hang out, or just be cozy.
This isn’t your typical wedding day, and that’s the whole point.
